What is Nepotism
Nepotism is what it is called when employers show favoritism to someone they know. It may be a family member, friend, acquaintance that an individual can show nepotism towards. Nepotism is an abuse of power to show favor to somebody regardless of their skills or experience.
Nepotism commonly comes into play when an employer offers a job to a relative. Nepotism is an unfair practice that can decrease the engagement, commitment, and morale of other employees in the organization. While nepotism is not illegal in the private sector, there are many detrimental outcomes for the business, and it is immoral, so it’s not worth partaking in this practice.
