What is Onboarding

Onboarding is the term used by human resources teams to describe the process of a new hire starting in the organization. It plays a crucial role in helping the recruit get settled in, understand their position, and start becoming productive. Onboarding is often regarded as the first few weeks in a company, but realistically, it goes on much longer as the staff member keeps learning.
At the end of the onboarding process, the new hire should be competent in their role and understand how to do everything required of them. Onboarding activities include salary negotiation, job training, team introductions, workplace tours, and more.
