What is Outplacement

Outplacement occurs when an employee is made redundant. It is the process of helping the person to find a new role. Assistance in this transition can include job coaching, career coaching, CV writing, and more. Outplacement is often used in addition to a severance package to help the staff member cope with redundancy.
Employers often provide outplacement services to ensure that the person leaves on a positive note, despite the redundancy. This can reduce risk to the organization. It also helps employees to feel less stressed about finding a new role and puts them in the position to be a strong applicant for positions they apply for.
