What are Passive Candidates

Passive candidates are people who are happy in their current role and not actively looking for work but may be interested in new opportunities if they come across one. They are not putting time and effort into looking for a new job but aren’t necessarily set on staying where they are.
Finding passive candidates can be a challenge. You can often locate them through employee referrals, LinkedIn, and social media. You are unlikely to receive an unanticipated job application from them. To get a passive candidate to apply for a role, you will usually have to contact them directly and ask them to submit an application.
