What is Reverse mentoring

Reverse mentoring turns the standard mentoring scenario on its head. Rather than getting a mentor who is more experienced than themselves, reverse mentoring encourages both partners to learn from each other. It usually involves pairing up an older and a younger mentee. This can be a useful tool for both parties. The younger person gains the wisdom and experience of their older counterpart. The more experienced person might find out more about new tools and innovations, such as using Zoom, Instagram, or other more recent technology.
Reverse mentoring acknowledges that both older and younger people have plenty to learn from each other. They can often effectively help with each other’s weaknesses as they both have different strengths.
