Applicant Pool

A company’s applicant pool is the total candidates the business may consider when filling a vacancy. This includes all people who applied for the available position. However, it may also consist of other candidates, such as those referred by staff members or those who were unsuccessful for another role. It may also contain current employees who are seeking new jobs.
Having an applicant pool wider than just those who actually applied for the job widens the range of candidates so that hiring managers have more people to choose from. Plus, it can save the organization time and money on finding new top talent.
