Attrition

Attrition refers to the number of staff a company loses over time. This can be from people leaving the organization both voluntarily and involuntarily. Attrition occurs through resignation, death, retirement, termination, and transfers.
Some level of attrition is expected in any company as no one stays in one position forever. However, a high attrition rate is a concern for many companies, as it shows that they struggle to retain staff. This can be a sign of a toxic work culture, problems with the management structure, and other systemic issues. On the other hand, if the attrition rate is low, then you likely have a high level of employee satisfaction and engagement.
