Casual Employment

Casual employment is a type of employment where the staff member is not guaranteed work. They work as and when needed without expectations of set or regular shifts. When there is no work to be done by casual employees, they do not come to work. There is no obligation on the employer to provide ongoing employment, and the casual employee is not expected to go into work.
Payment is offered for hours worked, and there is no compensation if the casual employee has not worked during that period. Casual employment also means that the individual does not get an allowance for holidays or sick leave.
