Those who specialize in the hiring of executive employees are known as executive recruiters. Positions executive recruiters may recruit for include directors, executives, senior managers, and more. They will often specialize in one industry, as each requires different skills from executive-level staff.
Over time, executive recruiters develop an extensive contact list, enabling them to more easily find hires in that field. They may either work independently on a contract or for a recruitment company. Some executive recruiters are employed by larger companies that have enough hiring demands to employ one just for their business needs. These people sit within the HR department.
