Cognitive Skills

Cognitive skills refer to the skills required to learn new information, reason, analyze, and apply knowledge. There are both elements of genetic ability and ability to learn in cognitive skills. Some people naturally find it easier to pick up new information than others. Other people may work to become proficient in cognitive abilities, but it is often harder for them.
As part of the recruitment process, many employers test for cognitive skills. They want to hire staff who are quick learners and are excellent at analyzing and implementing new information. The test for this is known as a cognitive assessment.
