Microsoft PowerPoint Assessment: Sample Questions | Bryq
Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced
These are three sample questions from Bryq’s Microsoft PowerPoint assessment, a software skills test for hiring marketing coordinators, administrative assistants, trainers and other roles that create presentations regularly. The full assessment covers three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced, from presentation design and layout to animation, interactivity and multimedia. The format blends text-based multiple-choice questions with image-based ones, each with four options and one correct answer.
Beginner
Question
You’re presenting a slide show and want to end it and go straight back to editing your slides. Which key should you press?
Select your answer
Esc
F5
Shift + F5
Ctrl + S
WHY IS THIS THE CORRECT ANSWER
Pressing Esc ends the slide show at any point and returns you to the view you were editing in. F5 and Shift + F5 start a slide show from the first slide or the current slide, and Ctrl + S saves the file.
Intermediate
Question
You’ve inserted a product photo for a slide, but it has a cluttered office background. You want to keep only the product and remove everything behind it. Which button should you click?
Select your answer
A
B
C
D
WHY IS THIS THE CORRECT ANSWER
Remove Background detects the main subject of a picture and deletes the area behind it, and you can then mark extra areas to keep or remove. Corrections adjusts sharpness, brightness and contrast, Transparency makes the whole picture see-through, and Artistic Effects applies filters such as blur or sketch. None of these removes the background.
Advanced
Question
You want an object to move smoothly across the slide and grow larger as you advance to the next slide, without setting up motion path animations. What should you do?
Select your answer
Duplicate the slide, move and resize the object on the copy, then apply the Morph transition to it.
Apply the Push transition to the second slide.
Add a motion path and a Grow/Shrink effect to the object on the first slide.
Insert a Slide Zoom on the first slide that links to the second.
