Hard Skills

Hard skills are teachable, job-specific abilities that can be tested and measured directly, such as coding, financial analysis, or operating a specific piece of software. They're typically learned through formal education, training, or direct experience, and they answer a narrow question: can this person do the task today? Hard skills sit alongside soft skills and cognitive ability as one of the three main predictors of job performance; measuring only hard skills tells you what someone knows without telling you how they'll work with a team or adapt to what the role needs next.
